City of Tampere: PROJECT FLOWING CULTURE AND ART 2021-2022
The project has a regional development remit in the Tampere Region to develop an arts and culture distribution model.
Project Flowing Culture and Art has a regional development remit for the Tampere Region funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The City of Tampere is responsible for carrying out the project together with fourteen of the region’s municipalities, which are Hämeenkyrö, Ikaalinen, Kangasala, Lempäälä, Mänttä-Vilppula, Nokia, Orivesi, Parkano, Pirkkala, Pälkäne, Sastamala, Valkeakoski, Vesilahti and Ylöjärvi.

We are collaborating closely with the Arts Promotion Centre Finland branch in Tampere, local arts and culture organisations, current cultural projects in the Tampere Region and other regional development remits, among others.
The goal of the project is to create a distribution model and a supporting online platform to further the employment, networking and competences of artists and cultural operators in the Tampere Region. The online platform will have a ‘service menu’, which gathers arts and cultural participants and their arts services in one place, where customers can easily find them.
The project canvasses the needs for developing skills and networking activities in the field of arts and culture and organises training and networking events to meet these needs.
The Ministry of Education and Culture granted the project 190,000 euros. The project started when Tampere applied for the title of European Capital of Culture, and it collaborates closely with Operation Pirkanmaa on communication, training and networking alike.
