Color Up Peace workshops 27.-28.9. in the city centre of Tampere

In 2024, the City of Tampere will celebrate its 245th anniversary, and also the 70th anniversary of the twin city relationship with Kiev. Both milestones will also be celebrated during the "Colour Up Peace" workshops on 27. - 28. September.

The three upcoming Color Up Peace workshops will create a large artwork that will be on display in Tullintori area, on the Pakkahuone Square (Pakkahuoneen aukio), during the Window Walkabout project between 24 October – 3 November.

Color Up Peace is a Ukrainian art project that explores peace and peace values through collective art making. In the Color Up Peace method, people are invited to send in photographs of what peace means to them. Photos are then turned into colouring pages for others to color up and further develop their own visions of peace.

The outlines of the works are hand-drawn in digital format by the workshop’s founder/artist, Ukrainian Lisa Glybchenko. In this workshop, we will color together a large outline of a peace image representing Finnish-Ukrainian friendship. This work will later be exhibited at the Window Walkabout event.

The workshops will take place as follows:
